Today is an International Friendship Day.
The day has been celebrated in several South American countries, especially in Paraguay on 30 July, while – on first Sunday in August in many countries, in 20 July in Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay.
In 2011 The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. It is a day when all races get to learn from each other.
Some friends acknowledge each other with exchanging cards and gifts on this day.
Let us always take care, love and appreciate our friends who are always ready to be next to us, to share our pain and happiness and accepting us they way we are, the friends whose name you just call out and they will come running to see you again.
